Level 1This course is the starting point for people who want to get involved in tennis. It is aimed at people who are enthusiastic about tennis and want to help a coach deliver Mini Tennis. If you are a parent who wants to help their children enjoy and improve their Mini Tennis, a teacher working within a school or you want to help the coach at your club or in your local park then this course will give you the information and skills you require.
Successful candidates will receive a Level 1 Award in Coaching Tennis (QCF) awarded by 1st4sport plus RPT certification, International Coaches Institute Certification and a supplementary certificate from the European Union. These additional certificates are exclusive to RPT delivered courses and are not available through any other training provider. On successful completion of the Level 1 candidates should be able to:
This course costs £225 which includes the cost of the training course, all materials and workbooks, 1st4Sport and RPT registration and certification fees, International Coaches Institute certification, European Union Supplementary certification and a three month bronze membership of the RPT.

The course is three days long, consisting of two consecutive days of teaching followed by a break for practical experience and a final one day assessment.
During the break, candidates will need to complete their portfolio of evidence and complete a minimum of 4, 1 hour coaching sessions with an experienced LTA licensed coach. Candidates are required to have their coaching assistant experience organised before the course starts.

- Have a signed letter of deployment from the club where coaching experience will be undertaken or request a letter of deployment from the course provider. After completing your Level 1 course, you will need to have a DBS (formerly known as a CRB Enhanced Disclosure) if you wish to become registered.
