TENNIS COACHING COURSES - THE SUCCESSFUL SPANISH SYSTEM

We offer a variety of different tennis coaching courses designed to suit everyone from the beginner to the very experienced coach. Our coaches courses vary from the 1 day Pro Development courses (suitable for LTA licence points) to 9 day full certification courses and our new and very popular Nike Community Coach Award.

 

Our courses also offer coaches the opportunity to apply for an LTA coach licence.

 

On successful completion of your RPT coaching course you will receive certification from the RPT and also from the International Coaches Institute and the European Union.

 

All our coaching courses are developed from the successful Spanish coaching systems introduced in Spain by the RPT which have been an integral part of the fantastic and consistent success of Spanish tennis over the past 10-15 years. This is your chance to learn these successful coaching methods and at the same time be able to gain the necessary qualifications to be able to apply for an LTA Coach Licence.

NEW TO COACHING?

Streetennis– is the latest innovative teaching programme based on introducing children under the age of 9 to tennis. It is an easy, economical and fun way to give children the experience of tennis and fuel their interest to want to learn more. The course is aimed at teachers, tennis enthusiasts, players and existing coaches who wish to add this activity to their existing coaching programme.  Successful completion of this course enables coaches to apply directly to the LTA to become LTA registered

Nike Community Coach the 3 day coaching course is designed to introduce and teach tennis to children and how to develop their skills and interest in the game. It combines technical teaching with movement and co-ordination in a dynamic and fun environment and incorporates the successful Spanish teaching methods, which have helped produce players like Rafael Nadal, Carlos Moya and Juan Carlos Ferrero. The Nike Community Coach award is designed to help expand the base of tennis and introduce a wider range of children into the game from throughout the community. Successful completion of this course together with the associated workbook and assessments enables coaches to apply directly to the LTA to become LTA registered

Mark of a Pro/Pro Plus – The Mark of a Pro training programme has been designed and developed to provide a wide range of training materials to equip the tennis coach with a broad yet detailed knowledge of coaching at this level. The course covers technical teaching progressions and analysis, tactical strategies for singles and doubles, how to teach speciality shots and a day of Spanish Drills. Successful completion of this course  together with the associated workbook and assessments enables coaches to apply directly to the LTA for an LTA Coach Licence and be able to apply to take the LTA Senior Performance or Senior Club course.

ALREADY COACHING?

The RPT offer 2 routes for your further training, qualification and certification.

 

Performance Route

The Advanced Coaching course is designed to ensure that you as a coach are shown the latest techniques and developments taking place in the tennis world with specific reference and detailed information from the leading Spanish Academies. The coaching course covers technical and tactical teaching for advanced players with a high level of technical analysis. Planning for success is a key element of the course as well as a whole range of technical, tactical and matchplay drills.

Club Route 

The Advanced Club Pro Course the course is designed to help coaches understand how to work within a club environment and to maximise the potential of the club, the players and the coaching opportunities. The on-court materials will look at coaching for all ages and abilities and how to combine these programme to develop the club programme further and will include specific training programmes. Off court we will look at the club structure, operational procedures and development opportunities.

The Senior Club Pro Course  will help take tennis coaches and their clubs to a new and higher level both in terms of standards of play and operations. The coaching course will cover a range of on court teaching methods and initiatives to help coaches design and develop new programmes within their club setting. Off court we will look into club structure, funding options and opportunities, management and finance within the club set up.

The Tennis Management has been designed to help those professionals who are currently involved in directing clubs and tennis programmes or those wishing to develop their careers to encompass management skills as well as their on court teaching role. The coaching course is very practical and will involve a great deal of realistic applications and examples to the theories and general practice of management within a tennis and leisure environment.
