LEVEL 3 COURSE INFORMATION
This course is designed for all professional coaches who work or would like to know how to work with players that are working towards national and international standard at either junior or senior level. The course is very practical and gives the basis for a development framework and planning of programmes and sessions for training to the highest level. As well as a global and specific idea of the competitive structure of international tennis, life on the circuit and how to get involved as a coach and with your players. Technical: An in depth look at the technical teaching aspects of the most advanced strokes and how to teach them using fundamentally sound teaching methods. Tactical: A systematic way of introducing advanced tactical play and pre match strategies will be introduced through a series of skill building drills, pressure and sports science drills as well as games and competitive situations. Physiological: The importance of fitness training and nutrition at the highest level can never be underestimated. You will be shown how to develop and monitor a fitness programme for your players and how to help them understand a total training programme Psychological: A practical on and off court look at how to identify psychological strengths and weaknesses and how to help develop the psychological skills of your players to make them mentally tough. Analysis: The latest technology and the latest analysis framework is used to help coaches be able to identify and assess the smallest of technical details in a players stroke Match Charting: You will be shown how to develop your own match charting system to help you diagnose the technical and tactical strengths and weaknesses of your players and also to develop a statistical database of future opponents Flow Charting: This will help coaches and players understand how to incorporate the 2 point tactical theory in practice and also to show an overall pattern of each game and set for future analysis Fitness and Footwork: An on court programme will show coaches how to develop specific footwork patterns for different strokes. An on court fitness programme will also show how to develop the key areas of fitness for a tennis player without having access to a gym. |
LEVEL 4 COURSE INFORMATION
This course has been designed to help those professionals who are currently involved in directing clubs and tennis programmes or those wishing to develop their careers to encompass management skills as well as their on court teaching role. The course is very practical and will involve a great deal of realistic applications and examples to the theories and general practice of management within a tennis and leisure environment. The course will cover the following subjects:- Planning for Success: How to plan, programme and monitor your business to be able to plan for your success. Building a Brand: Creating, developing and promoting your own brand are critical to establshing an image for your business and how to use and utilise that brand Roles and Responsibility: Establishing the roles and responsibilities for everyone working in you club or academy to create an effective working environment Directing a Tennis Centre: How to segment your centre and operate each element effectively and efficiently and to be able to create a winning atmosphere and culture Marketing: Understanding how to market your business and use the latest technology to grow your business. Looking at the critical elements of marketing and how to apply them to your business Financial Planning and Controls: Managing the finance of any business is critical to its success. This will provide practical tools to monitor your own business Sponsorship: How to attract, manage and service sponsors across your programme, club and academy. How to segment your programme, what you can offer and how to value your sponsorship opportunities Successful Programming: Looking at ways of creating and developing an effective year round programme to deliver a successful business model Customer Service: How to establish your service level and how to deliver this service consistently across all areas of your business Media: Managing and utilising the media is an important side to running any business. Traditional media is still a route to exposure but using social media platforms, website development, smartphone and tablets are now all critical in developing an ongoing media presence and links with your customers, suppliers and the public at large |
LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATION TEST
Teaching test: You will need to show how to develop a training session for a specific stroke in a squad training setting. You will also be required to conduct an analysis of an individual player and be able to offer the required assistance to help the player develop their chosen skill. Portfolio: You are required to create a portfolio to demonstrate your understanding of the training programme. This will include lesson plans, coaching log, periodisation plans, technical analysis, psychology, fitness etc… Presentations and Discussions: You will be required to make presentations and lead group discussions on a wide range of tennis related subjects Charting and Analysis: You will be required to chart a professional match on video and produce a statistical analysis for each player and a game plan for one of the players. A compete technical and tactical analysis programme must be written for a player showing all the stages of development and training. |
LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATION TEST
There is no formal test at Level 4. You will be required to develop a portfolio of evidence showing that you have been able to apply the theories and practices outlined in the course to your coaching environment. This will include:-

QUALIFICATIONS
LEVEL 3
At the end of the course, all coaches who have completed the course and the assessments are eligible to receive the qualification of RPT INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL from the RPT and the International Coaches Institute and a European Union Supplementary Certificate. |

At the end of the course, all coaches who have completed the course and the assessments are eligible to receive the qualification of RPT TENNIS DIRECTOR from the RPT and the International Coaches Institute and a European Union Supplementary Certificate. |
