WHAT YOU WILL STUDY

- The content of the tennis contextualised degree course will draw on key coaching principles, including an examination of coaching practice and coaching process. In addition sports science principles will relate psychology and physiology to coaching and performance, while sociological aspects of sport and sports coaching and performance analysis at both a technical and tactical level will be examined.
- During the course you will cover performance analysis, sports psychology and sociology, coaching sporting elites, sports physiology and coaching procedures and practices. As you progress through the course you will be able to select modules that reflect your interests.
YEAR ONE
In the first year you are introduced to all elements of the coaching process. You will gain an understanding of the link from theory to practice across a range of disciplines including psychology, physiology and performance development.

YEAR THREEIn the final year you will explore an interest in one or more performance disciplines. This specialism enables you to develop both personal and professional skills essential for career development in the tennis industry.
COACHING QUALIFICATIONS

If you already hold part or all of these qualifications and can provide proof of experience in coaching you may apply for Recognised Prior Learning and may not be required to undergo this training.

A limited number of scholarships and bursaries are available for existing coaches and will be agreed on a first come first served basis

Applications do not need any tennis coaching experience prior to enrolling onto the course but should hold or be at the equivalent level of an ITF International Tennis Number at Level 5 or higher
Tennis coaches who already hold RPT, LTA, ITF, USPTA, PTR or National Governing Body qualifications (or agreed equivalents) and can provide proof of experience in tennis coaching and management can also apply for the programme and may be able to move directly to the 2nd year of the qualification.
